Edge Learning partnered with Mallard Contracting to develop a Corporate Online Induction that gives every new employee a clear understanding of the company’s history, vision, values and ways of working.
About the client
Mallard Contracting is a 100% Aboriginal-owned construction, civil, maintenance and demolition company operating across Western Australia. Founded in 2011 by Wajarri-Nanda man Robby Mallard, the business creates employment, training and career opportunities for Aboriginal people while delivering projects for leading mining, construction, community and infrastructure clients.
The problem
Mallard Contracting needed a consistent way to induct new employees across its teams. Every new starter needed the same clear understanding of Mallard’s history, vision, values and standards, as well as its operational and safety philosophies, systems and objectives.
The solution
Edge Learning worked closely with the Mallard team to build an engaging Corporate Online Induction in Articulate Storyline. The course covers 20 key topics, from Acknowledgement of Country, company history, vision and values through to health, safety and wellbeing, fitness for work, cultural awareness, code of conduct and environmental responsibility.
Each topic was designed in Mallard’s own branding with clear visuals and simple on-screen text. The course was delivered as a SCORM package ready for Mallard’s LMS.

The outcome
The Corporate Online Induction has been rolled out across all Mallard Contracting teams, and the feedback has been extremely positive.
