What affects the investment?
Animation complexity
A course built with simple slides and icons costs significantly less than one with fully animated characters walking through an underground mine or operating heavy equipment. Animation is the single biggest lever on price.
Number of interactions and assessments
Drag-and-drop activities, branching scenarios and knowledge checks add engagement but also add development time. We'll advise on the right balance for your learners.
Course duration
A 5-minute safety refresher and a 30-minute site induction are very different projects. Longer courses mean more scripting, more animation and more build time.
Custom characters and branded visuals
If your course needs characters built specifically for your site, workforce or equipment, that design work is included in the quote. Generic character sets are faster and lower cost.
Updating existing courses
Updates are charged by the hour, using a block of hours that starts from five hours. Updates can't be made to SCORM files – we need the original source file.

Edge Learning prices custom eLearning in three tiers. Essential courses start from $5,000 for up to 10 minutes of clean, slide-based content with synchronised narration. Standard courses run $10,000 to $30,000 for up to 20 minutes with a branded visual style, 2D character animation and multiple interaction types. Premium courses sit above $30,000 and include custom designed characters, full 2D animation and scenario-based learning with branching.
What is included at every price tier?
Unlimited review rounds, SCORM compliance, instructional design and script writing, professional voiceover, and a client SharePoint page for the project, backed by more than 20 years of resources-industry expertise.
What affects the price of an eLearning course?
Animation complexity is the single biggest lever on price. The number of interactions and assessments, the course duration, and whether you want custom characters or branded visuals also affect development time and cost.
Can you update an existing eLearning course?
Yes. Edge Learning updates existing courses, including content changes, new slides, visual refreshes, conversion between authoring tools and SCORM compliance fixes, even for courses built by another provider. Updates need the original source files; a SCORM file alone cannot be edited.
Which tier should I choose?
Essential suits policy updates and compliance refreshers. Standard suits site inductions and safety procedures. Premium suits complex technical training and content mapped to certification.
