One of the advantages of elearning is that assessments are easy to deliver and they mark themselves and report back to the LMS so it does not require any time for trainers. But do you need an assessment?
If you need to prove that the learner understood the content, then the answer is yes. Also, if you want to make sure that they are paying attention, the answer is also yes. And, assessments scattered throughout the course can be a great way to engage learners.
